    الشبكة العالمية لرصد الشعاب المرجانية - هذه الشبكة برنامج ترعاه اللجنة الأوقيانوغرافية الدولية مع برنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة والاتحاد الدولي لحفظ الطبيعة والموارد الطبيعية والبنك الدولي، ويهدف إلى (أ) تحسين حفظ الشعاب المرجانية والنظم الإيكولوجية الساحلية المتصلة بها وإدارتها واستخدامها بشكل تتحمله البيئة، وذلك بواسطة توفير البيانات والمعلومات عن اتجاهات الوضع الفيزيائي - الأحيائي والقيم الاجتماعية والثقافية والاقتصادية لهذه النظم الإيكولوجية؛ و (ب) تزويد الأفراد والمنظمات والحكومات بقدرة تقييم الموارد من الشعاب المرجانية والنظم الإيكولوجية المتصلة بها والاشتراك في إطار شبكة عالمية في توفير الوثائق ونشر البيانات والمعلومات عن وضعها واتجاهاتها.
